Nation’s First All-Girls Sainik School Inaugurated in Mathura
Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paved the way to launch the first all-girls Sainik school at Vrindavan on Monday, 2nd of January 2024. This is considered a eureka of hope for girls who dream of joining the national armed forces and serving & guard their motherland. This is the first all-girls Sainik school launched in India and it is also part of the campaign to establish over 100 Sainik schools in the nation in partnership with NGOs/private/state government schools in all states/Union territories. The school has a strength of around 870 students. This school adds to the already existing 3 Sainik schools across the nation which are functioning in the former pattern, as per the statement published by the Ministry of Defence.
The defense minister, Rajnath Singh, stated that this school was built for all the girls out there who aspire to work hard and protect the motherland. “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has given women their rightful place in the Armed Forces, which was neglected for years,” said the defense minister. He further said that just like men, women also have the opportunity and right to guard their nation. It was a golden moment in the history of women’s empowerment the moment the admission of girls to Sainik schools was approved by the ministry. Women are not only flying fighter planes and jets but they are protecting the birders with all they can, these days.
Coming to Mathura, he talked about the importance of the city and how the sages of the nation have considered the global society as one family. He expressed how the area is filled with a positive vibe and happiness in the name of Lord Krishna and even how foreigners feel the divine presence in this sacred city of Mathura and settle down here. “They find peace in Vrindavan by worshipping Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. Even rickshaw pullers here greet with ‘Radhe-Radhe.’ ‘Radhe-Radhe’ is ingrained in the people’s lives here. The military school here is not opened by me but on the orders of Radha-Krishna,” the defense minister said.
Back in 2019, the defense minister approved the admission of girls to Sainik school from the academic session 2012-22 in a phased manner. The decision followed after looking at the success rate of the pilot project started by the Ministry of Defense in Sainik School Chhingchhip in Mizoram.
The purpose behind launching the campaign of opening 100 Sainik schools is to provide quality education to students in tune with the National Education Policy 2020 and provide finer opportunities in their career including enlisting themselves in the armed forces as well. This also serves as a gateway for the private sector to work hand-in-hand with the government towards better nation development. This can be achieved by refining today’s youth and making them the responsible citizens of tomorrow. Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath along with other senior officials of the state government were a part of the grand inauguration ceremony of Samvid Gurukulam Girls Sainik School, Vrindavan.
