Meet Renuka Jagtiani: Indian CEO Who Got Listed on Forbes Billionaires List
Landmark Group CEO Renuka Jagtiani made India proud as she was ranked amongst the Forbes List of ‘Latest Billionaires in 2024.
The business world is no longer just a male-dominated area. Women are progressively taking the lead and strides towards success and becoming inspirational figures to more people out there on their respective paths. Earlier this month, Forbes magazine released the richest celebrities in the world in the year 2024. The ‘New Billionaires’ list includes 25 Indians and among them is Renuka Jagtiani, who is the CEO of the Landmark Group. As per the reports of Forbes, the net worth of Renuka is $4.8 billion as she took over the company post of her husband Micky Jagtiani’s unfortunate demise.
According to the Forbes World’s Richest People 2024 list, “There are now more billionaires than ever: 2,781 in all, 141 more than last year and 26 more than the record set in 2021. They’re richer than ever, worth $14.2 trillion in the aggregate, up by $2 trillion from 2023 and $1.1 trillion above the previous record, also set in 2021. Two-thirds of the list’s members are worth more than a year ago; only one-fourth are poorer.”
Who is Renuka Jagtiani?
Renuka Jagtiani graduated from the University of Mumbai with a Bachelors Degree in Arts. At present, she spearheads and oversees more than 50,000 employees across the globe. With over 2,200 stores across 21 countries, Landmark is known for its homegrown brands, such as clothing and footwear retailer Max, home furnishing chain Home Centre and Babyshop, which sells children’s products. It even includes a thriving hospitality business called Citymax, which is a chain of budget hotels and restaurants.
Landmark group was launched by Jagtiani’s husband, a retailing stalwart who died at the age of 71 after a prolonged illness. Renuka Jagtiani joined the firm in the year 1993 and made her appearance with the launch of Splash, a fast-fashion business that has now grown to more than 200 stores in 11 countries in the Middle East and Africa.
Her children, Nisha and Rahul are the group directors of the Landmark group spearheading different aspects of the company. For more than 20 years, she has led the company’s corporate strategy and expansion into new markets.
In her working career, Renuka has won several awards in the world of business for her company’s excellent leadership skills and talents for expanding her company overseas.
