Madhuri Dixit Joins Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3

In a cinematic landscape struggling at the box office, the horror comedy drags audiences to theatres with Aneeze Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, featuring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu. That said, Bhool Bhulaiyaa is all set to make a comeback with its threequel, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and it has been confirmed that Kartik Aryan will once again play the lead role. Meanwhile, Vidya Balan is coming back to revive her OG Manjulika character, with the addition of another important role played by Madhuri Dixit in the movie.
Kartik Aaryan announced the return of the threequel movie earlier on his social media account, where he wrote, “And its happening OG Manjulika is coming back to the world of BhoolBhulaiyaa Super thrilled to welcome @balanvidya This Diwali is going to be crackling.”
Vidya Balan additionally shared a video featuring her and Karthik Aryan dancing to the ‘Mere Dholna’ song on the X (formerly called Twitter) platform. She captioned it, “Mere dholna…. Aa rahi hai waapis, aapki Manjulika, iss baar Rooh Baba @TheAaryanKartik ke saath. #BhoolBhulaiyaa3” (Your Manjulika is coming back, this time with Rooh Baba).
No one can deny the fact that the huge success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is all thanks to the presence of India’s evergreen actress, Tabu. The sequel movie also gained significant applause from the viewers for featuring OG Vidya Balan as the character of Manjulika. In the third sequel of the much-loved movie, Madhuri Dixit will join the cast team, where she will also play the role of a ghost alongside Vidya Balan. This time, Rooh Baba, the character played by Kartik, has to fight not just one but two female spirits. The film is planned to be released during Diwali this year— a double dhamaka treat for the fans!
The first instalment of this movie was directed by Priyadarshan and starred Akshay Kumar in the lead role with Vidya. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was directed by Anees Bazmee, where Kartik shared the screen with Tabu and Kiara Advani, and in this third instalment, the role played by Kiara Advani in the last season is said to be portrayed by Sara Ali Khan, although it is yet to be confirmed by the team.
Bhushan Kumar, the Producer of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, expressed his pure joy in being a part of the movie and emphasized that it holds a special place in his heart. He continued to mention that he was delighted to take this movie forward with creative minds like Anees and Kartik. Bhushan further stated that this legacy of the franchise would bring double waves of laughter and a thrilling experience to the audience.
The incredible actor from the Khiladi movie, Kartik Aaryan, delivered a standout performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which secured a box-office success. The film director, Anees Bazmee confirmed that there is no role for Akshay Kumar in the upcoming instalment, however, he expressed his eagerness to work with the original Khiladi in his future projects.
Further, Kartik Aaryan is booked for another lead role in the upcoming film, Chandu Champion, which is expected to be released on June 14th of this year. The movie is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and focuses on biographical sports that depict the real-life story of Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar.
Our Dhak Dhak Girl, Madhuri Dixit also appeared in a 2024 comedy film titled ‘Panchak’, directed by Rahul Radheshyam. It is a dark comedy film released on 5 January 2024. It was produced by Madhuri Dixit herself as part of the RNM Moving Pictures crew, where the film was shot in Konkan. The movie generated 1.28 crore at the box office in its initial first week.
Meanwhile, Vidya Balan’s upcoming movie, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’, is directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta and written by Eisha A Chopra, Amrita Bagchi, and Suprotim Sengupta. It is set for release on 29th of March 2024. It is a romantic comedy film that revolves around a couple on the edge of separation. The film cast includes Vidya Balan, Ileana D’Cruz, Pratik Gandhi, and Sendhil Ramamurthy.
