Kiara Advani to Debut & Represent India at Cannes Film Festival
Bollywood sensation Kiara Advani is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year, representing India at the prestigious Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women in Cinema Gala dinner.
Kiara Advani is all set to attend the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year. She comes after other Bollywood celebs such as Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and many others. According to a news article posted by a publishing company, Kiara will grace the Red Sea Film Foundation’s Women in Cinema Gala dinner at Cannes 2024.
Kiara Advani’s Cannes Itinerary
The Women in Cinema Gala dinner at the 2024 Cannes Festival will be hosted by Vanity Fair whose mission is to bring together six women from around the world and recognise their contributions to the entertainment field. ‘Variety’ magazine also reported that four-panel discussions about global incentives and filming will take place at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. The prestigious event will be held at La Plage Des Palmes on May 18, 2024. Kiara Advani is set to participate in the Red Sea International Films Festival panel.
Aishwarya Rai, Aditi Rao Hydari at Cannes 2024
Along with Kiara who is making to debut, actors Aishwarya Rai and Aditi Rao Hydari will also be back at the latest edition of Cannes Film Festival as ambassadors for L’Oreal. While Aishwarya is a regular at Cannes, Aditi made her debut at the prestigious film festival in 2022.
India at Cannes 2024
The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to take place from May 14 to 25. In this event, India is set to host a ‘Bharat Parv’ at the 77th Cannes Film Festival for eminent dignitaries and delegates from around the world to showcase the myriad creative opportunities in the country.
At the prestigious film gala, a delegation consisting of representatives from central and state governments as well as members of the industry will showcase India’s creative economy in Marche du Films through a series of significant initiatives, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry said on Friday, 10th of May 2024.
It will be for the first time that the country will host a Bharat Parv at the Cannes Film Festival to engage with film celebrities, filmmakers, directors, producers, buyers and sales agents from across the world and showcase the creative opportunities and a rich bank of creative talent.
On the work front, Kiara Advani is all set to step into the action genre with Don 3. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the film will also star Ranveer Singh in the lead. She stated in an interview that she cautiously decided to sign his movie to break away from the way the audience has seen her as of now.
“I think this was a conscious decision. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to change it up for myself. This was one genre I was longing to get myself to do, change the vibe, change the way I have been perceived so far. That’s what is exciting, right? As an actor, you are constantly stepping into different characters and making the world believe that this is what you are. There will be a lot of prep for the film (Don 3). I have got time to do that and I am very excited. I have never done an action movie. Now is my time to do some action,” Kiara said.
