Indian Women’s Team to Host England & Australia in Home Series From December 6

The senior Indian Women’s cricket team will be hosting England and Australia in an eventful home season, this year, which takes its sail from December 6, 2023. The team will take on England and Australia women’s teams in two separate home series comprising of multi-format series that will include two Tests in December, along with six T20Is and three ODIs. All of these matches will be played at the Wankhede Stadium and the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. 

This international home season or the bilateral series will start its journey with India battling off against England for three T20Is under lights at the legendary Wankhede Stadium, accompanied by a four-day Test starting from December 14 to 17, 2023, at the D.Y.  Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

On the other hand, Australia will eventually arrive in India to begin its multi-format series. Both teams will start with a Test at the Wankhede Stadium from December 21 to 24, 2023, followed by three ODIs and three T20Is at the D.Y.  Patil Stadium that will also stretch into the second week of January 2024.

According to one of the announcements published by BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), the secretary Jay Shah mentioned, “The season kicks off with the resumption of A tours, as India A host England A team for three T20s at the Wankhede Stadium. The international home season will begin with India hosting England for three T20Is, which will be played under lights at the Wankhede Stadium. England’s Tour of India will culminate with a four-day Test scheduled from December 14th to 17th at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.”

Shah further stated that the Test matches are going to be followed by six-white balls matches that include both ODIs and T20Is as well. Every match is going to be held in the DY Patil stadium of Mumbai and supposedly the bilateral series will commence its end on January 9, 2024. 

Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket team, Harmanpreet Kaur along with her teammates were last seen in action during the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, where they claimed victory over Srilanka in the finals to claim a historic gold medal.
