Deepika Wins Hearts as She Plays Maa in Kalki 2898 AD
The actress has excelled in playing mother roles before in Bramhastra and Jawan.
The Bollywood diva, Deepika Padukone, is known as one frontline actress in the Bollywood industry and never misses a chance to amaze her fans with her different characters on screen. The actress again sets the screen on fire with her presence in Kalki 2898 AD. After a long wait, the trailer of Kalki 2898 AD was finally released on June 10, 2024, since then, the fan can’t keep calm with the appearance of Deepika’s role as a Maa in the film, sporting her adorable baby bump.
The film also stars the well-known South actor Prabhas in a leading role besides the legendary and versatile Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hasan, and the queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone. Kalki 2898 AD is a pan-Indian film has been directed by the Indian film director and screenwriter, Nag Ashwin, known well for his contribution to the Tamil film industry. The performance of Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan’s exclusive avatars has blown fans’ minds, however, it is Deepika whose presence on the screen left every fan jaw-drop.
Deepika played the role of the on-screen mother-to-be of Kalki in Kalki 2898 AD. For someone, who hasn’t watched the newly launched trailer yet, the actress will be seen playing the role of a pregnant woman, who is just about to give birth to the last and final avatar of Vishnu, a deity in Hindu mythology. Kalki, which is believed to be the tenth representation of Vishnu, will appear at the end of Kali Yuga.
This is not the very first time when the diva played the role of a mother and amazed the audience with her flexible acting skills. Back in 2023, the actress left everyone in awe with her role as a fierce mother of Shah Rukh Khan in the film Jawan. In 2022, Deepika Padukone was also spotted in a cameo in Ayan Mukhajee’s Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, as the mother of Ranbir Kapoor. Although she was presented on screen just in a blink, the short appearance was enough to freeze the internet with her grace.
Discussing on her involvement board Kalki 2898 AD, the actress highlighted the challenges she faced while working in a whole new environment and different language. Deepika Padukone previously spoke in an interview by admitting that she was nervous. Every camera roll was very normal for her, but it was the very first time when she got a chance to work with Prabhas. It was also the first film to work under the direction of Nag Ashwin. She also said that the same she has to do it in a different language, alongside shooting it in Hindi. Most importantly, Kalki 2898 AD, is a film with complex VFX, and it was new to her. From the language to the VFX world, the actress has made a long way to put her every excitement into work, and fans are already hoping for the film to be a blockbuster at the box office.
The mom-to-be will be playing the role for just a few months before welcoming her first child in the world with Ranveer Singh. The fans are delighted with her acting for one more time. Audiences were showering hearts and blessings right after the trailer of Kalki 2898 AD was released.
