Deepika & Ranveer Announce Pregnancy, Expecting Baby in September
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are expecting their first child. The baby will be born in September this year, according to the couple’s official announcement.
B-town’s power couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who tied the knot in the year 2018 after dating for six years, are expecting their first child. Earlier this day (29th of February, 2024), the couple, Deepika and Ranveer shared the joyous news of the pregnancy through an official announcement on their Instagram handle. The couple wrote that the baby was due in September 2024. Recently, a source informed ‘The Week’ that Deepika is currently in her second trimester and is soon expected to make an official announcement regarding her pregnancy. And as expected, the couple dropped this wonderful revelation.
Rumours started to appear when the actress allegedly tried to hide her stomach on the 77th BAFTA Awards ceremony’s red carpet which was held in London. She was inhibited as an award presenter in the ceremony. She donned a stunning shimmery saree and custom jewellery by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for the said awards ceremony.
Deepika and Ranveer on Parenthood
During an interview with Vogue Singapore in January 2024, Deepika talked about her expectations for parenthood by stating that both the actress and her husband, Ranveer, love children. She said that the pair are looking for the day when both of them will begin the journey of parenthood by starting their own family. Deepika also reflected on her upbringing, emphasising the importance of staying grounded despite fame and money.
She explained how it is easy for a person to get carried away by fame and money. And how her family keeps her grounded which she does not intend to change in the future as well. She hopes that she and Ranveer can inculcate the same values in their children as well.
In a previous interview with Rajeev Masand, Deepika shared about her backup plans if she hadn’t pursued acting. The actress stated, “If I was not an actor I don’t know what I would have been doing. But hopefully with some children around. Three little kids, scuttling about. Hopefully, be working enough to take them to shoots. Have a happy family. And at the same time, still doing what I am doing.”
The Pathaan actress always had her priorities on point. Even before she got married to Ranveer Singh, she was very keen on starting a family. Even during the L’Oreal event, Deepika had stated that she wanted to have a lot of babies before she die. She realizes the importance of family and it is the thing that completes her as a person whole.
Meanwhile, even Ranveer Singh expressed his thoughts on starting a family on several occasions. He said on the show ‘The Big Picture,’ “Deepika was such a cute baby. I see her baby photos every day and tell her, ‘Give me one baby like this one, my life will be set.’” The actor desired a beautiful home where his wife, kids, and family play joyfully, with everyone being happy and healthy.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh dated for around six years before taking it to the next step and got married at Lake Como in Italy, on November 14, 2018. The pair met each other on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ and fell in love. Apart from this, the couple worked together in other films such as ‘Finding Fanny’, ‘Padmaavat’, and ‘Bajirao Mastani.’ The two celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary last year in Belgium.
